TEACHING

Violin, viola and music theory teacher in Canterbury

I am a dedicated and experienced teacher based in Canterbury. My mission is to pass on my knowledge as a violinist and violist to develop musicianship, technique and of course a pure joy for music, in a rewarding and fun environment.

I teach violin and viola from absolute beginner to grade 8/diploma level and beyond. I currently hold a 100% pass rate with ABRSM and Trinity exam boards, with many students achieving Merit or Distinction. I also offer music theory lessons and have guided many students through ABRSM grade 5 theory. I am also experienced with preparing students for scholarships and auditions, with previous students gaining places at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, Junior Guildhall, Kent College Senior School and The King's School Canterbury.

Whether the aim is to ignite (or reignite!) a love of music, take music exams, improve posture, to play in an orchestra/ensemble or to achieve a first ever on-stage performance, I tailor every lesson to suit the individual's ambitions. All ages welcome - I currently teach an age range between 5 years and 70 plus!

I'm lucky enough to have developed longstanding relationships with many of  my students, some over many years, and I find it incredibly rewarding to watch them progress and find their unique musical voice.
