Featured student of the term - Duo Duo
Updated: Dec 6, 2020
It's been a strange few months, having had to move all my teaching online due to the current pandemic. Having to adapt to a new way of delivering lessons has certainly had its challenges, but overall the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I feel so lucky that we are able to facilitate music-making in a time where things could easily have ground to a halt.
I read an article yesterday on the Classic FM website that states that a whopping two thirds of young musicians are practising more during lockdown! I was inspired by this news to share some positivity among my musical family, so have decided to run a 'featured student of the term' series on my blog, showcasing some of my students that have worked particularly hard (and are willing to feature on video, of course!).
We're going to kick things off with Duo Duo, aged 7 but almost 8. Her birthday is in July, so her dad said she would like it to be rounded up!! Duo has been having lessons for just over a year and a half, passed her grade 1 violin with Distinction in November, and is now ready to take her grade 3. She has a truly admirable work ethic - practising almost every day- and a pure joy for playing violin! Duo learnt the Kuchler Concertino in D major almost entirely by herself over the past three weeks, and deserves a huge congratulations on her success so far! The video shows highlights from the first movement, Allegro Moderato.
If you enjoyed this, please do press the 'heart' button; Duo will be overjoyed!
